Sustainable development
Nature knows no borders. Birds migrate across continents, mammals cross national frontiers in search of new habitats and local environmental pollution has global effects. That’s why NABU, one of the biggest environmental organisations in Germany, has been active on the international stage for many years.
NABU integrates both ecological and social factors in its work. It campaigns to protect species and habitats, develops sustainable tourism and environmental education, and supports local organisations. NABU attaches great importance to combating poverty and promoting sustainable development in order to protect our precious natural resources. NABU was one of the first organisations working on projects in countries of the former Soviet Union. Today, the geographical focus of our projects is set on Africa, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
